Biogas measurement

Biogas measurement deals with the precise recording and analysis of biogas, which is produced in biogas plants through the fermentation of a wide variety of biomasses such as waste or renewable raw materials. In contrast to fossil natural gas, biogas is produced "biotically" and makes an important contribution to the energy transition. After production, it is either used directly to generate electricity, processed and fed into gas supply networks as biomethane or used as fuel for vehicles.

With the RGQ 5 and its mobile counterpart, the RGQ 3, RMG offers a high-precision solution for biogas measurement. Both devices reliably and efficiently determine important gas quality parameters such as calorific value, methane number and Wobbe index. The RGQ 3, as a compact, mobile version, is ideal for flexible applications on site and perfectly complements the stationary applications of the RGQ 5. This measurement technology ensures direct, non-destructive analysis of the gas and meets the highest standards of accuracy and reliability.

Thanks to the precise and robust technology of the RGQ series, the quality of the biogas can be determined in detail. This is essential to ensure safe feeding into the gas grid and to make optimum use of the energy value. RMG combines many years of expertise with state-of-the-art technology to offer reliable measurement solutions that are specially tailored to the requirements of the biogas industry.

Biogas measurement for safe feed-in into the natural gas grid

Biogas measurement with the RGQ 5 and RGQ 3 is essential for the industrial use of biogas, which is obtained from organic residues through microbial degradation processes. With their precise measurement technology, they enable the reliable determination of the calorific value, methane number and Wobbe index - key parameters for quality assurance and efficient further processing of biogas.

Thanks to their direct measuring methods, the RGQ 5 and RGQ 3 provide stable and exact values even with varying gas compositions. The RGQ series can also monitor the CO2 and H2 content.

The flexible application of the mobile RGQ3 offers a decisive advantage, especially for the temporary inspection of biogas plants or mobile measurements at different locations. The RGQ 5, on the other hand, is ideal for stationary monitoring in biogas plants or at feed points into the gas network. Both devices ensure that the biogas meets the specific requirements for further processing - whether for power generation, feeding into the grid or use as fuel in engines.

For a sustainable energy supply

The use of the RGQ 5 and RGQ3 offers decisive advantages for sustainable energy supply and industrial use. With their ability to precisely measure the calorific value, they help to optimize the use of energy. A significant advantage of biogas is its base load capability: unlike wind or solar energy, biogas can be continuously available through storage and thus contribute to stability in the energy mix.

The technical features of the RGQ devices include high-precision measurement technologies for the continuous monitoring of gas quality parameters. They ensure that biogas can be safely fed into the gas grid or used efficiently in combined heat and power plants (CHP). Thanks to their flexibility and precision, the RGQ 5 and RGQ 3 ensure the safe and efficient use of biogas - whether for power and heat generation, as a fuel or for innovative industrial applications.
