The history of RMG Gaselan can be traced well back into the 19th century.
The development from 1843 till the end of the 2nd World War
The master plumber Julius Pintsch laid the foundation for RMG Gaselan on 26. April 1843 with the opening of a plumbing workshop in Berlin. To start with, the owner occupied himself with various plumbing work. Later, he got orders for the repair of gaslight lanterns. Subsequently, he himself started to build gaslight lanterns for the streets of Berlin. He then continued with the manufacture of gas meters. In 1863, new factory premises were set up in the Andreasstrasse in Berlin, which later became the head office and central administration office. Subsequently, branches were set up in Dresden, Breslau, Frankfurt/Main and Utrecht. However, the biggest plant was the operation in Fürstenwalde / Spree, which became the main production location. The production program included a wide range of devices and plants, mainly for the city gas supply, including gas pressure regulators, coolers, tar separators, washers, equipment for examining gases, gas meters, gas and ammonia plants, maritime radios. During the 1st and 2nd World Wars, parts for weaponry were also produced in the Fürstenwalde factory of Pintsch AG. At the end of the Second World War, this resulted in the dismantling of the factory.
The era of the German Democratic Republic up to the founding of the RMG Gaselan after German Reunification
After expropriation and reconstruction, the Industriewerk Fürstenwalde/Spree came up on the premises of the erstwhile Pintsch company, which was later renamed in 1951 to VEB GASELAN Fürstenwalde, and later as VEB Chemie- und Tankanlagenbau Fürstenwalde. The factory took up the earlier production range of Julius Pintsch AG. The production program of VEB Chemie- und Tankanlagenbau included plants and individual products for petrochemical engineering, from the oil fields to the final processing, as well as for the gas industry for gas distribution and gas supply. In particular, this included: overground field equipment for natural gas, petroleum crude byproduct gas and underground stored gas, methanol injection plants for gas drying, gas pressure regulators, gas safety fittings, gas measuring devices, gas filters, complete plants for gas pressure regulation, gas filtering and gas measurement.
The founding of RMG Gaselan Regel + Messtechnik GmbH Fürstenwalde/Spree
On 01.10.1990, the RMG Group took over the part of the VEB Chemie- und Tankanlagenbau, which was involved in gas distribution. The products of RMG Gaselan included, among others, gas pressure regulators, gas filters, gas safety valves and nutating piston meters as well as the manufacture of gas pressure regulation and measurement plants, from the smallest regional supply stations through turnkey takeover stations, which are completely equipped with pre-heating, odorizing, electronic systems and remote action technology. The majority of the components comes from the RMG Group.
