Brief History of the RMG Group

The first factory

The origins of the RMG Group, date back to 1908, with the company "Morell'schen Fabrik für Rotationskompressoren" – which was later renamed to "Hessenwerke Maschinenfabrik", during 1911

1931

Rudolf Majert takes over as a manager and acquires all the Company shares  with the subsequent renaming of the company to: "Hessenwerk Rudolf Majert".
The primary products being manufactured, include valves for gas cylinders, gas pressure regulators, fuel gas arrangements for automobiles in addition to supplying regulators for filling zeppelins.

1945

In recognition of the developing gas industry, the company develops a range of gas pressure regulators and safety devices to accommodate the increasing demands for high pressure and large capacity volumes.

1960

The DWM Deutsche Waggon- und Maschinenfabriken GmbH, Berlin, acquires the business shares.

1964

The IWKA Industriewerke Karlsruhe-Augsburg AG aquires the company and renames the company RMG + Messtechnik GmbH.

1966

WÄGA Wärme-Gastechnik GmbH, already an established and well-known company in the design and manufacture of gas pressure regulating and metering stations, becomes the first acquisition.

1981

To meet the growing demands for gas metering and corrector systems, the company acquires Pintsch in Butzbach – Germany and renames it RMG Messtechnik GmbH. At the same time the RMG electronic Ltd is founded, thus extending the RMG Group of Companies

A modern gas pressure plant

1987

Karl Wieser GmbH, Ebersberg, manufacturers of recording, measured value  and analysing equipment becomes a member of the RMG Group.

1990

Following the reunification of Germany, RMG Gaselan Regel + Messtechnik GmbH is founded. The company specialises in the design and manufacture of gas metering and control systems, together with gas pressure reducing stations.

1996

Bryan Donkin RMG Gas Controls Ltd., Chesterfield, England, and its subsidiary company based in Woodstock, Canada, become members of the RMG Group thereby, further extending the range of gas control equipment.

1998

RMG Electronic GmbH, Beindersheim and Karl Wieser GmbH, Ebersberg, are consolidated into one company, thus enabling a wide choice of electronic and analysing equipment from one source.

2001

GAZOMET Sp.z o.o. founded in 1862, becomes the latest acquisition to the RMG Group providing a wide range of isolating valves.

2005

Triton, acquires the RMG Group from  IWKA Industriewerke Karlsruhe-Augsburg AG holding company.

2006

The business activities of RMG Messtechnik GmbH, and Karl Wieser GmbH, are consolidated under one company.

2007

At the end of 2007 the RMG Group acquired 100 per cent of Mercury Instruments, Cincinnati (USA). This opens up the new market of the USA to the RMG Group.

The RMG GROUP today

RMG Regel + Messtechnik GmbH is the parent company of the international RMG Group.
